Good news has arrived for FC Barcelona – the club has finally received the Certificate of Completion (CFO) for the first phase of the Spotify Camp Nou renovation. In this initial phase, the stadium will be able to host 27,000 spectators, who will occupy the two main stands and the south goal sector.

Inauguration against Real Sociedad?
The next step is to submit the CFO to the Ajuntament de Barcelona, along with the ECA certificate issued by Dekra. Club sources indicate that the full documentation should be submitted between Monday and Thursday of this week. City officials will then review the paperwork to issue the First Use permit, allowing Hansi Flick’s team to return to their stadium.
Despite these developments, the club believes there is little chance of obtaining the permit before Sunday’s match against Getafe, so the game will likely take place again at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. A more likely return to Spotify Camp Nou is the match against Real Sociedad on September 28. If the second phase of construction is completed by then, the side stand could open, raising the stadium’s capacity to 45,000 spectators, though the club remains cautiously optimistic.

Goal: Champions League
Returning to Camp Nou is crucial not only for LaLiga but also for the Champions League. UEFA requires the side stand to be ready for the PSG match on October 1, both for television and safety reasons. The Real Sociedad game will also serve as a test for the new facilities ahead of the European clash.
Once the permit is granted, Barcelona will resume activity at the stadium with a limited capacity of 27,000 spectators, while finalizing all formalities and complying with local authorities’ requirements. Until now, the team has had to play home matches at the Estadi Johan Cruyff due to delays in issuing the CFO, but the club’s goal is to bring fans back to the renovated stadium as soon as possible.
