FC Barcelona remains focused on returning to Spotify Camp Nou for the first matches at home, though an exact date has yet to be confirmed. However, the club received a significant boost as the City Council has approved a modified construction permit. This new license allows for a phased reopening of the stadium without needing the full completion of the first and second tiers.

Race against time continues
Currently, Barcelona is awaiting final construction work and the official handover of the stadium. Importantly, this handover is not signed solely by the club, but by all parties involved in the project – most notably the lead engineering firm Torrella Ingeniería y Arquitectura and the main contractor, Limak. The initial reopening would allow for around 27,000 spectators, with the Tribuna and Gol Norte stands available first. The Lateral and Gol Sur sections are expected to open at a later stage.
In order to formally request to play at Camp Nou from the beginning of the season, Barça must finish the essential works within the next two weeks and obtain the Completion Certificate. Only then can the club notify the city authorities, LaLiga, and UEFA of its intention to return home. This is expected to happen between August 18 and 24. The relevant institutions will then have two to three weeks to approve the request.
