Barça (finally) announces its returns
We are coming home, we are vibing
- announced FC Barcelona on its channels. A video released on Wednesday shows the culers returning to Camp Nou accompanied by drums and speakers, a clear referance to Spotify, the stadium's title sponsor. It is only at the end of the video that the most important thing is said – the date. On August 10 the legendary venue will see the Blaugranas fight for the Joan Gamper Cup.
This is the first time Barça have set a specific date for their return. Previously, president Joan Laporta promised a return last November to celebrate the club's 125th anniversary, then spoke of December ot January, then spring, before finally stating that they would return for the end of the season. None of these promises came to fruition, and time and again the club hid behind imponderables.

The countdown begins
So now there is no margin for error or delay. There are only 45 days left until the return, and there is plenty of work to do - some sectors are still missing seats, the interiors need finishing work, and the turf has to be replaced. On top of this, the surroundings of the stadium have to be adapted so that it can be used simultaneously by fans on match days and workers with heavy equipment on the rest of the days, because the whole work will not be finished - if there are no new imponderables - until 2026.
Limak's workers and subcontractors therefore have to make a real effort to get it all done in time. Before the game, the stadium has to get permits from the firefighters, the city council, the district authorities and the police. The Gamper Cup - in which Barcelona players are likely to face Como 1907, couched by the former Blaugrana player Cesc Fàbregas - will be the final test before the Primera División and Champions League games. These will return at Camp Nou in mid-September with a capacity of around 60,000 seats. We will only know the specific dates after the draws.
