Farewell and swift start to demolition
Before the match, fans organized a march toward the stadium. In the stands, a massive display was unveiled with the message: La Romareda will always be my stadium,
as supporters rallied behind the team in a decisive game. After the match, the club held a short ceremony at the center of the pitch. Club legend Canario appeared alongside team captain Francho Serrano, who apologized to the fans for the disappointing season and announced his decision to extend his contract with the club. Afterward, fans stormed the field to collect mementos from the historic arena.
In the coming days, dismantling of certain parts of the stadium will begin—these elements will be reused in the temporary stadium where the team will play its matches starting next season. This will be followed by the complete demolition of La Romareda, marking the beginning of the second phase in the construction of the Nueva Romareda.
