As planned, with work scheduled to begin at the end of April, FC Barcelona started installing the first rolls of turf at Spotify Camp Nou on Tuesday.

Work on the pitch and the third stand

The work began from the lateral stand side, as seen in videos already circulating on the internet. Last week, the installation of drainage, ventilation, air conditioning, and heating systems around the pitch was completed. The turf was delivered to Spotify Camp Nou by several trucks, and in the coming days, work will continue on preparing the playing surface. At the same time, construction of the future third stand is progressing, with new steel structures being added to form the highest level of the stadium.

Almost two years after the last match was played —the Barça vs. Mallorca game (3–0) on May 28, 2023—the green carpet is now close to returning. According to the club’s current plans, the first matches at the new Spotify Camp Nou are scheduled to take place as early as September.
