What’s left to do?
Tasks proceeding according to plan aim to increase the stadium’s capacity to over 70,000 spectators, making it the third-largest stadium in Spain. Patricia del Pozo announced that all foundations and structures are 100% completed, and the stands are also fully ready.
Only prefabricated elements in the corners need to be installed, which will be done in the coming days. By the end of March, the toilets and bars will be ready, and by the first days of April, all seats will be installed. As for the progress on the pitch, Del Pozo highlighted that all work related to pump installation and the irrigation system has been completed, and the drainage work, expected to be completed in 10 days, is currently underway. The installation of synthetic grass will begin on April 1st.

Authorities pleased with the investment
The Minister emphasized that the expansion of Estadio La Cartuja is a strategic investment by the government of Juan Ma Moreno, which turned a stadium that was deemed technically ruined by PSOE into one of the most important sports venues in Spain. Rafael Louzán also highlighted the support Sevilla has received from RFEF, noting that the city has experience in organizing major matches and can count on continued assistance to host some of the future European finals as well as World Cup knockout stage matches.
