FC Barcelona is preparing to reinstate the fan section – known as la grada de animación – which was suspended in November 2024. A permanent group of supporters dedicated to chanting and cheering will be established at Spotify Camp Nou.

Preparations underway for the new group

The organization will involve fans, club employees, board members, and even players. The project will also include specialists in stadium atmosphere coordination, the club announced in an official statement. Joan Laporta is determined to establish la grada de animación at Camp Nou and has taken the first steps in that direction. After suspending Espai d’Animació at Montjuïc due to unpaid financial penalties previously agreed upon, he has begun efforts to reach an agreement among all stakeholders.

The club stated on its official website that this process aims to create a permanent supporter section in the new Spotify Camp Nou. The board has approved a plan to initiate dialogue with all parties who may influence the section’s organization – including club members, players, employees, and specialists in stadium fan engagement.

A complex process overseen by experts

The entire process will take four months and will involve a series of meetings to establish a constructive agreement. The new format of the section is set to be approved in June and July, with further details such as location and group composition finalized in August and September. The new initiative will not be managed by the club or the board but by an external company. To implement the project, the club has announced that an experienced company specializing in fan engagement, mediation, and participatory initiatives will oversee the process. This firm will be responsible for moderating discussions, exchanging ideas, and developing the final concept for the supporter section, all under the supervision of FC Barcelona.
