Celebrations on campus and in stadium

The Ohio State Buckeyes‘ victory is their sixth national championship title, and their first since 2014. The success was especially significant as the 2024 season was not an easy one. After losing to perennial rival Michigan, doubts about coach Ryan Day's future and chances of making the playoffs were in question. However, the team managed to overcome the difficulties, as coach Day himself highlighted: It's a great story about a group of guys who overcame some really tough situations, and at a time when a lot of people were counting us out (they) just kept swinging and kept fighting he said after the game.

Fans of the Ohio University team, despite various adversities in the past, won their sixth title after a 10-year drought. However, many fans are looking for alternative activities at their fingertips, so they don't have to wait at all. Increasingly popular around the world are online casinos and interesting offerings such as online blackjack for Arab players, where real excitement awaits, as well as the potential for high earnings.

The joy of the fans began the moment the match ended. Hundreds of students lined the streets of the Columbus campus, despite the freezing temperatures. Just minutes after the final whistle, the crowd headed towards Ohio Stadium, known as The Shoe. Chants of O-H-I-O filled the night air, and excitement reached a fever pitch as fans crossed the stadium gates.

Rather than contain the crowd, the police adopted a strategy of allowing people into the stadium in a controlled manner, which calmed the tense atmosphere. It's crazy. I was surprised that the police were so supportive of us said student Natalie Freihammer.

Symbolic moments inside stadium and dangerous moments outside it

On the turf of Ohio Stadium, where football games are played every day, fans expressed their joy in a variety of ways. Some took photos, others danced and some climbed the stadium's structures. There were moments of euphoria that freshman Thomas Schmansky described as surreal.

The celebrations began to die down around 12:20 at night, when most of the students left the stadium. Despite the crowd numbering in the hundreds, no incidents or arrests were reported. OSU spokesperson Dan Hedman stressed that everything went safely thanks to proper police strategy.

Not all fans confined their celebrations to the stadium. The streets of the Columbus campus were filled with music and chants, and some groups set off fireworks. Unfortunately, some of the celebrants decided to set fire to seven couches on various streets. Columbus firefighters responded quickly to each fire, extinguishing the flames and securing the area.

Polly Antrim, a landscape architecture student, observed one such scene. I came home from a game earlier and saw the couch had been set on fire and someone was trying to put it out she - she reported. Antrim added that an hour later she smelled smoke again. She went outside and noticed that another part of the couch had been set on fire near the still smouldering remains of the furniture. The student stressed that the Columbus firefighters did an excellent job and added that the whole situation was of little concern to her.
