Two years, three phases and tens of millions of pounds. Brighton & Hove Albion has unveiled ambitious plans to modernize Amex Stadium. Standing places or the largest fan zone in the Premier League are just some of the changes for the Seagulls’ home to undergo.

£40 million - that's the amount Brighton & Hove Albion wants to spend on modernizing American Express Stadium. The first effects of this work, in the form of signage or branding, were already visible in the summer, but fans will have to wait a few more months for the most important one.
This will be The Terrace. The area, scheduled to open in the spring, will be the largest fan zone in the Premier League, accommodating 1,000 fans in winter and 2,000 during the summer. The club wants to use it year-round for events and assures that it will work with the best local Sussex suppliers.
It is another incredibly generous investment by our chairman Tony Bloom,

of Amex. The next two will be its modernization.

Reshuffling in Brighton and Hove
Saturday's match against Arsenal (1:1) was the last for Dick's Bar as we know it. Both the bar and the club's store have closed to give way to a reshuffling on Amex. The Seagulls' official store will be expanded to occupy both the museum and Dick's Bar. However, one of the bars in the North Stand in 2025 will take its name.
Much further afield will move out the museum, which will open in the Brighton and Hove city center in 2026/27, although the exact location remains unknown.
Revolution on the stands
The modernization of the Seagulls' home will be crowned by changes on the stands. And there will be plenty of them. A safe standing area will be created in the North Stand, although the club is also considering introducing them in the South Stand where guest fans sit today. The visitors' sector will therefore be moved to the southeast corner, where the Heineken Lounge is located today.
The 1901 Club, on the other hand, will be expanded to include an area with a pub-like vibe,
increasing the venue’s capacity from the current 31,876 seats to 32,500. The Seagulls' stadium will thus leapfrog Leicester’s King Power Stadium and Southampton’s St. Mary's Stadium in the 2026/27 season, when all changes will conclude.
