Testing of the light fittings and illumination of the GKS Katowice stadium
On Thursday, October 10, the new Municipal Stadium lit up for the testing of the venue's luminaires and illumination. Photos from the trials can be found on our Katowice stadium construction page.
Fans closely follow all stadium construction in Poland, but this one in particular, as GKS Katowice plays in the highest football league in the country. As it turns out, however, more and more people are choosing online activities over those in stadiums, searching for betting sites not on gamstop UK, for example, which offer an alternative for players seeking more freedom and fewer self-exclusion restrictions.
In the latest photos, you can also see the effects of preparations for the laying of the turf inside the stadium. On the first training pitch, the turf is already in place in its entirety, and once work on the second pitch has been completed, it will be time for the main playing field.

Other news at the Katowice stadium
According to those responsible for the construction, the stadium is expected to be ready by the end of the year, which is on schedule. The facility has already taken shape and finishing activities are underway. The installation of chairs in the club's colours in the main facility and more has been fully completed, but more about that at the end.
Work has also started on the two training pitches in Katowice, where special fencing is being installed along with ball catches. Finishing work continues behind the wall, i.e. inside the nearby sports hall. Walls are being painted there or work is being done on the toilets. Cleaning companies are also preparing the hall so that the sports floor can be laid in the near future. As in the stadium, chairs in the club's colours are already being installed.

Another new stadium in Poland
Katowice will join Płock, Sosnowiec, Łódź or Szczecin - cities where stadiums with a capacity of more than 10,000 have opened in the last few years. The facility will open in the spring round of the 2024/25 season and the street where the stadium is located will be called Nowa Bukowa, as a reference to the old facility, which is located on Bukowa Street.
GKS Katowice will be one of two clubs to change stadium for the spring round. The other is Puszcza Niepołomice - the club is set to move from Krakow to its facility. Six companies have come forward to carry out the work to allow it to return to Niepołomice.
