They can no longer wait
Rumors about changing the host of the 2027 final had been circulating unofficially for some time, but now UEFA has confirmed the decision. There are too many uncertainties surrounding the future of San Siro: representatives of Inter and Milan have rejected the proposal for renovation, and they are once again pushing for the construction of a new stadium. UEFA has grown tired of waiting: Since the municipality cannot guarantee that renovation work will not impact the stadium and its surroundings during the 2027 Champions League Final, it has been decided not to award the event to Milan and to reopen the procedure to select an appropriate venue, with a decision expected in May or June 2025,
reads a UEFA statement.
The 2025 final will be held at Allianz Arena in Munich, and the following year at Puskás Aréna in Budapest. The location for the 2027 final remains unknown.
