Group A
In Group A, it seemed that everything was already decided before the tournament started. Germany would win the group, while Scotland and Hungary would battle it out for third place. Despite the poor defensive performance of the Hungarians and Scots and the thriller between Germany and Switzerland, the most memorable moment in this group was unfortunately the collision between Barnabas Varga and Scottish goalkeeper Angus Gunn.
As expected, the biggest crowds in the stands were attracted by the matches of the hosts, the Germans. Stadium occupancy exceeded 98.5 % at every game, which is not a shocking result and confirms the interest in football of German fans known, for example, from the Bundesliga. The opening match, Germany - Scotland, was also the one that filled the Munich Football Arena the most. The total number of tickets sold for Group A matches was 304,124.

Group B
On paper, this was the second strongest group. The current European champions - Italy, the best Euro 2012 team in Poland and Ukraine - Spain. On top of that, the medallists of the last two World Cup tournaments and the always fierce Albania. This has been witnessed by Italy, who lost the fastest goal in Euro history, and Croatia, losing a goal in the 95th minute. In hindsight, this goal will probably have been the deciding factor in not seeing a team from the Balkans again at this tournament.
Strong national teams translated into masses of tickets sold. Attendance was not below 95 per cent but two matches here stand out above the average. The matches between Albania and Spain and Spain and Italy filled the stands by more than 99%. The total number of tickets sold for the Group B matches was 310,576. Will such high engagement from Iberian fans help La Roja's young generation win the tournament?

Group C
The favourite: England? Nothing could be further from the truth. It turned out that Group C was the one for the biggest football connoisseurs. So boring, that an England fan fell asleep for a couple of hours in the stadium and the kids preferred to go to bed rather than watch Southgate's team. The most interesting part of the group was somewhere between Denmark and Slovenia, who decided their places not on the pitch but deep in UEFA regulations. Slovenia appeared to be outplayed by the receiving of a yellow card by a member of the coaching staff.
In Group C, two matches in the Munich stadium crossed the 60,000 spectator barrier. A total of five draws were seen by around 270,000 fans. The weakest result, despite one of the best quality matches in this group, was recorded by Slovenia and Serbia, who attracted, by the standards of this Euro, "only" 95% of the entire stadium in Munich. On the other hand, an above-average result, i.e. 106% of the stands were full, was observed in Stuttgart at the meeting between Slovenia and Denmark. Indeed, it turns out that, according to the official Euro 2024 website, the tournament capacity of this venue is 51 000 seats, while the attendance for the tournament matches is around 54 000 spectators. So we are probably dealing here with a side effect of the German education system. Anyway, the total number of tickets sold for Group C matches was 340,451 - the best of all the groups.

Group D
By far the strongest group of this Euro, although the favourites slightly disappointed. Quite a few shortcomings could be observed especially in the France national team. The Dutch were not up to their usual standard and Austria were the fair winners of the group. Everyone knew about the good form of Rangnick's team, but few would have put them at the top of the table. Poland, on the other hand, finished last in the group, as expected.
It can be said of the Poles that they played another poor tournament, but one statistic, for which unfortunately there are no points, cannot be taken away from them. What is it? 69,455 fans came to the Olympic Stadium in Berlin for the Poles' match against Austria. This is the highest attendance figure of all 36 group stage matches. The rest of the games also attracted crowds, with attendance not falling below 96% at any match. The total number of tickets sold for Group D matches was 330,446.

Group E
Who would have thought that this would be the most interesting group of the entire Euro. A toothless Belgium, an ineffective Ukraine and two teams that took advantage of their rivals' weaker disposition: Slovakia and Group E winner Romania. Stanciu's goal will certainly be remembered as one of the most beautiful goals of the tournament. Also in this group, a new record was set - Ukraine became the first team in the history of the current Euro format to score 4 points, and this was not enough to make it out of the group - the yellow and blue team finished fourth.
The results in the stands are the most evenly matched for this group. All games attracted more than 42,000 fans. Most tickets were sold for the match in Munich between Romania and Ukraine. The total number of tickets sold at Group E matches was 292,250.

Group F
From the outset, Portugal were expected to quickly secure first place, while the battle for promotion was on their backs. The team led by Ronaldo was one of the first teams at Euros to be assured of progression to the knockout stage. Turkey followed in Portugal's footsteps despite countless defensive errors. However, the biggest curiosity was Samet Akaydin's own goal, which not even the TV cameraman could keep up with. The surprise in this group was the 3 points the Georgian national team earned against the favoured Portuguese to advance to ⅛ of the final in a historic first appearance at the Euros.
The most memorable stadium fixture of the group was a leaking roof in Dortmund and a fight between Georgian and Turkish fans. The weakest attendance was recorded in Hamburg for the Georgia - Czech Republic match. Fans filled this stadium to less than 95% capacity. The total number of tickets sold for Group E matches was 299,749.
