Bolshaya Sportivnaya Arena – stadium description

Created by the largest company of Transnistria in 1996, Sheriff became the ruling club in Moldova for many years, having won their first trophy in 2001. Their main stadium was opened a year later, meeting or even exceeding all UEFA norms of the day. It offers almost 13,000 seats, most covered, as well as corporate boxes in the west and east stand, along with numerous conference and banqueting facilities.

After just a few years in use, seeing the release of latest UEFA regulations of 2010, the stadium went through its first major renovation in 2011, again becoming fully compliant with new norms and retaining supremacy as the best stadium of Moldova.

Called simply the main arena, it's one of three (!) stadia within the Sheriff complex, built between 2000 and 2003. The area of 40 hectares also hosts 9 training fields and a medical center, becoming one of the most impressive in this part of Europe.
