Svangaskarð – stadium description

The ground opened in 1980 is literally curved in a hill that mounts above town of Toftir. With less than a 1,000 inhabitants having a stadium six times bigger must trigger one’s imagination. It should work even more when said that this ground had a record attendance of 6642 when Faroe Islands were facing Malta in 1998. This was also the year until which it stood as the national stadium, later replaced by Tórsvøllur. Now mostly used by the B68 football team it also plays host to international games from time to time.
