USA: Virtual stadium in Los Angeles is going viral A match watched on screen is nothing compared to what is experienced sitting in the stands. But...is it really? Those who have watched Premier League matches from The Dome in Los Angeles are of a different opinion. To say that you can feel like you're in the stadium there doesn't do it justice. It is simply easy to forget that you are not there.

6000 m² of sport

The English teams are back in the United States again. And by that, we don’t mean the summer tour of Manchester City or Chelsea, but the Premier League matches. Their broadcast in the United States has gone to another level thanks to the Shared Reality technology used by Cosm at The Dome, a three-storey hall with a capacity of 1,500 seats.

On the 6,000 m² LED screen, it is possible to watch not only the most exciting Premier League game of the round, but also many shows such as Cirque du Soleil, and sporting events such as NCAA American football matches, tennis and mixed martial arts. Interestingly, the Cosm centre in Los Angeles is located next to SoFi Stadium, the most expensive stadium in the world. The company also has a second headquarters in Dallas.

This is what the new quality of watching a match at The Dome looks like. This is what the new quality of watching a match at The Dome looks like.

Old Trafford on the other side of the ocean

The footage of the broadcast of the Manchester United - Fulham match (1:0) generated huge interest from internet users and the media. A huge LED screen, a grandstand-like seating arrangement and shots as if from one of the bleacher seats made viewers feel as if they were in the stands at Old Trafford rather than in an entertainment centre 8500 km away from the stadium.

The cheapest tickets without guaranteed seating cost $22, while for a comfortable seat and a good view you have to pay between $66 and $132. However, this is still far less than it would cost for round-trip flights and a ticket to a Premier League game. Cosm's customers are clearly delighted, as tickets for the games are sold out two rounds ahead.
