England: Work on Everton Stadium pitch. What revenue will new facility generate? Work on the pitch of Everton's new stadium is ongoing. It’s a complex process involving the installation of multiple layers of technology, from drainage to heating systems, all before the grass is even sown. Once completed, the club will have access to a state-of-the-art playing surface.

Complex process

Currently, the work is focused on laying a waterproof membrane across the entire pitch. This lining will create a watertight base layer, upon which a drainage system will be built, allowing for water storage for irrigation. The membrane is placed over the first layer of underground wiring, and once the drainage system is in place, the heating infrastructure will be installed next.

Afterward, work will be carried out on the lower and upper root zones, followed by the sowing process. The work is expected to be completed in October, after which specialized machines will weave synthetic fibers into the grass roots, making up about 5% of the pitch surface.

Will stadium give club a financial boost?

Everton’s finances have been under close scrutiny for nearly a decade, largely due to Farhad Moshiri, whose decisions have caused concern among fans. However, with Bramley-Moore Dock offering a much-needed glimmer of hope, and the announcement of a new deal with food provider Aramark UK, this transaction has been described as one of the biggest commercial deals in Everton’s history.

Adam Williams, a football finance expert, spoke to everton.news about the exact benefits of this new deal and why some of the language in the agreement might seem somewhat disingenuous. It’s clear from the promotional videos that Aramark and Everton are following the American commercial model, emphasizing the fan experience and encouraging them to spend more time at the stadium. For more than just 90 minutes.

He also believes that Everton will likely double its ticket revenue over time, but the commercial benefits will far exceed this linear growth. In his opinion, Bramley-Moore Dock could generate revenue of £70 million or even £80 million per season for Everton.

**Avoiding past mistakes**

Finally, the finance expert highlighted one key issue regarding fans, concluding by saying, One thing I would emphasize is that the Everton Supporters Trust and Fan Advisory Board need to hold the club accountable on ticket pricing. This is particularly to avoid a situation similar to what happened at West Ham, where promises about ticket prices were a condition of the move to London Stadium, but the club gradually raised prices and changed the concession policy to the point where the prices alienated loyal fans.
