Historical connection

Following the mandatory announcement and without objections or claims, as stated in the protocol issued on June 27, 2024, by the Integrated Care Office of the Municipal Office, the agreement was ratified in accordance with administrative clauses dated May 21, 2024, approved by the Territorial Government Board on May 30, 2024.

The agreement outlines the primary reasons for undertaking this procedure, emphasizing that CD Castellón SAD is the sole sports club that has utilized these facilities for their intended purpose of football. Therefore, from its inception to the present day, the stadium, as a cultural and social symbol of the city of Castelló, has been historically linked to CD Castellón SAD.

City sees many benefits

It is also the only club currently registered in the highest football category among all local clubs, and thus the sole sports club authorized to use Castalia Stadium facilities for official and unofficial matches. There is no doubt that CD Castellón SAD's participation in the professional league will have a positive impact on all residents, as the media influence of Spanish professional football leagues, both nationally and internationally, will benefit the city, reads the justification.

Furthermore, it is believed that the presence of visiting teams' fans opposing CD Castellón SAD will have a positive impact on leisure consumption, hospitality, and commerce, making football a crucial factor in activating and promoting the local economy.

Investment follows recent successes

The recent promotion of the Albinegro club was also highlighted, stating that the recent inclusion of CD Castellón SAD in the second division requires significant investment in adapting, modernizing, and maintaining the stadium, particularly substantial investment to ensure spectator safety.

The story of CD Castellón SAD’s recent advance through the Spanish football leagues is fueled by previous investments made by the club’s owner Haralabos Voulgaris. Voulgaris is a professional gambler who has made his fortune as a poker player, where he played at various so called online casino’s zonder Cruks, and as the director of quantitative research and development for the Dallas Mavericks. His network and knowledge of state of the art quantitative technologies has already landed the club a valuable partnership with Iterpro’s football intelligence solution. It is expected that soon Voulgaris will leverage his network to land the club a lucrative sponsorship with an online casino zonder Cruks, similar to many top tier football clubs in the Spanish LaLiga.

Club takes responsibility

An investment plan will be developed during the concession period to ensure profitability and enable the city to possess a stadium that meets current and future standards of professional football, becoming a modern, safe, and sustainable facility. The approved document also mentions the club's submission of various documents and requirements, including acceptance of the full text of the concession and the administrative clauses document governing the administrative concession at Castalia Municipal Stadium, as well as the provision of a €300,000 guarantee or civil liability insurance policy.
