Not first time

The Adidas arena created for public viewing of the European Football Championship near the famous Brandenburg Gate is clearly taking shape. With an area of around 3,000 square metres and a weight of 300 tonnes, the stadium, made of wood and white canvas, is visible from afar.

The new venue in the centre of Berlin resembles the one where the Euro finals will be played. The stadium has been designed with an open side, reminiscent of Berlin's Olympiastadion, and its facade is similar to Allianz Arena in Munich.

Work on the Adidas Arena began a month ago, involving 102 containers, around 300 trucks and six kilometres of cables. The miniature Olympic stadium, where three screens will be installed, will have standing room for around 1,500 spectators and seating for 1,000. Ten seats will be reserved for wheelchair users. Given that there may be more fans, the way to get a free ticket is simple: first come, first served!

The temporary arena being created by the sports equipment manufacturer has already been a great success at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and Euro 2008 in the Swiss town of Liestal. During Euro 2024 (from 14 June to 14 July), the European Championship sponsor wants to provide another third edition by building the Adidas World of Football.

Organisation and additional attractions

Admission to the fan zone will be free of charge and matches will be broadcast live on large screens set up on the north, south and west sides of the arena. The fan zone will be open daily from 14:00 to 24:00, offering space for 15,000 people. Special attention has been given to ecology and sustainability - the stadium has been made of wood and plastic sheeting, which can be reused.

In addition to just watching the matches, there will be plenty of additional attractions for fans. Personalised gadgets, a hairdresser, a tattoo studio, concerts, e-sports and football pitches will be available in the fan zone. Free bottles of water will also be provided, as well as a varied menu including both traditional European dishes and vegetarian and vegan options.
