Central Europe: Assessing losses after big derby Stadion Śląski has evaluated the damages following the Great Silesian Derby. Górnik Zabrze fans vandalized the guest sector, causing destruction to various infrastructure elements, some of which are quite costly. What exactly needs to be repaired and how much will it cost? And of course, who will pay for it?

Over a million

The damage includes the destruction of a server room secured by double metal doors and the telecommunication infrastructure in that part of the stadium. Bathrooms were demolished, with several doors ripped out and parts of tiles and fixtures destroyed. The monitoring elements on the roof of the stadium were also damaged.

A few days ago, Stadion Śląski finished calculating the losses. In total, they amounted to 1.205 million PLN. The most significant expense, nearly 950 thousand PLN, will go towards rebuilding the server room and telecommunication system. As for the structural elements, the losses were estimated at almost 173 thousand PLN, and repairing the damaged roof monitoring will cost just under 84 thousand PLN, stated Adam Strzyżewski, director of the Silesian Stadium, as quoted by Dziennik Zachodni. For comparison, the damages caused in the sectors occupied by Ruch fans during the Great Silesian Derby were estimated at 2 thousand PLN.

Ruch Chorzów is one of the most successful clubs in the country. It also has a huge fan base that often fills the club's stadium. At the same time, many people, including fans, choose online entertainment, such as woohoo casino, so they can enjoy borderless entertainment.

Who will pay for this?

Stadion Śląski will deduct the amount to cover the damages caused by Górnik Zabrze fans from the deposit deposited by Ruch Chorzów when renting the facility. Simultaneously, the stadium director will request the Blues to supplement the security amount of 1.5 million PLN for the remainder of the season.

However, Ruch has no intention of paying for damages caused by fans from Zabrze and will demand that Górnik cover these losses because the arrival of 2 thousand fans was authorized by the club from Roosevelta Street. If, however, Górnik is unwilling to pay this amount, the money may be paid out by the company Ekstraklasa SA from the television rights installment due to the inhabitants of Zabrze.

Górnik Zabrze issued a statement claiming that it should not be responsible for the lack of proper supervision by the organizer of the mass event. They also add that their security office did not participate in the protocol handover and the turnover of the guest sector, which is standard procedure. However, these allegations were rebutted by Seweryn Siemianowski. He noted that the club representative from Zabrze, Rafał Mitręga, had a local vision before and after the match.

Closed guest sector

Repairing the damages in the guest sector may take up to five weeks. Proceedings have already begun to select contractors for repairing the specific damages. Since the match with Górnik Zabrze, the guest sector has been closed and will certainly not accept any away team fans for the remainder of the season.

However, this does not mean that they will not appear at all at the Silesian Stadium. During a meeting between Ruch Chorzów and Puszcza Niepołomice, around 200 supporters appeared in the hosts' sectors. Fans from Widzew Łódź also appeared at the stadium in great numbers to watch friendly match with the Blues.
