Seats’ installation in progress

All concrete terraces around the pitch are already installed, with over half of the 52,888 seats in place. The installation of all seats is expected to be completed by summer. The sight of blue seats at the lower level really emphasizes the closeness of the fans to the pitch. Next, we'll need to install non-slip edges on the step nosings and mount all intermediate steps in the passages. As you can see, everything is coming together nicely, and we're delighted with the progress, said Gareth Jacques, project director at Laing O'Rourke, as quoted on Everton's official website.

On schedule

As work progresses on the total roofing of the east stand, a race begins to complete all work on the pitch and clear the site of cranes and other construction equipment to commence work on the most crucial element of any stadium, the pitch.

Sealing of the concrete terrace joints continues using 33 km of sealing compound, along with finishing entrance and exit areas, including glass balustrades at most entrances around the bowl. We are working according to schedule, which means we will finish the current work on the pitch by early May, confirmed Gareth Jacques.

The entire granular material from the original piles and crane platform underneath still remains on the pitch and needs to be excavated. Installation channels around the perimeter also await, followed by preparatory work for the specialist to commence independent pitch assembly, expected to begin in June. This process will take about 20 weeks.

The construction deadline falls in the last weeks of 2024, and discussions have been held at the club regarding the timing of the move to the new Bramley-Moore Dock facility. After consultations with fans, Everton's executives have decided that the first match at Everton Stadium will take place only with the start of the 2025/2026 season.

The construction of Everton Stadium will cost a total of £750 million. This facility will be one of the venues for UEFA Euro 2028, which England will co-host with Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Ireland.
