This facility will not only be for the fans but also for the entire county, said Paul Scaysbrook, Chairman of the Oxford United Supporters Panel, as quoted by the Oxford Mail. Who will finance construction?

The facility is set to be located in The Triangle, south of the Kidlington Roundabout, and is planned to be unique on a national scale. Cost of new stadium currently amounts to a whopping £150 million. Previous forecasts exceeded £100 million, but at yesterday's fans' forum, Oxford United's chairman, Grant Ferguson, revealed that the latest budget ranges from £130 to £150 million. We are currently preparing an investment document. Shareholders have committed to funding a significant portion of this amount. Just like with any major investment, we will end up with a suitable mix of short-term debt, long-term debt, equity, and some grants, which will undoubtedly be available. We will also sell the naming rights to the stadium, said Grant Ferguson. He also assured that the club will have priority use of the facility for 365 days a year, and all economic benefits resulting from its operation will accrue entirely to Oxford United.

Where will Oxford United play?

The lease agreement for the club's current home ground, Kassam Stadium, expires in 2026. Chairman Grant Ferguson recently admitted that he would like to move directly to the new facility without the need to rent another stadium during the construction of the proper one. The project envisages the construction of a stadium with a capacity of 16,000 seats, a hotel, conference and event space, and a health and wellness center. This facility is set to be the first in England powered solely by electricity.
