The largest and most expensive stadium in the world

Built in Inglewood (Los Angeles County), the facility cost $3.4 billion, making it undisputedly the most expensive stadium in the world. However, the investment did not stop there, as the reconstruction of the surrounding road network and the construction of side facilities raised the total amount to an impressive $5.5 billion.

The result of the investment is a striking 70,000-seat venue (including 13,000 VIP seats), with a huge panoramic screen, concert hall and indoor area. A spacious, sea-inspired design and hundreds of LED lights complete the futuristic look of the stadium, which covers an area of 288 500 m2. SoFi Stadium will once again host the NFL finals

The Super Bowl is no stranger to Inglewood, as last year's NFL Finals game between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals was played at the stadium. After a fierce duel full of twists and turns, the encounter ended in victory for the locals. The event was the second most-watched in the history of the game and improved the 2021 result by 8%.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced at the Winter League Meeting that NFL team owners made a unanimous decision to have the 61st American football league finals held again in Inglewood. We are very excited to bring the Super Bowl back to Los Angeles for the second time in five years, he asserted.

The event’s relevance is not only sporting, but also economic

The Super Bowl attracts huge audiences, reaching up to 114 million viewers, as was the case with this year's final. During the halftime of the game, there is a show with the biggest stars, and a 30-second commercial costs up to $7 million. The revenue for local business from catering, hospitality and the game itself is gigantic, which is why major cities are constantly vying to host the final.

Super Bowl LXI, which will be televised by Disney, is also expected to provide the city, like the stadium, with huge revenues. This is the ninth final played in the Greater Los Angeles region in 60 years, the second in the same stadium. It turns out that the most expensive stadium in the world generates a huge amount of money, earning not only for itself, but also stimulating the region's economy.
