A few days before Christmas, on December 18, a tiger, a wolf, a monkey and many other animals, to sum up - the mascots of the Eredivisie and second division teams, the Eerste Divisie, appeared at the PSV stadium. The initiative came from Phoxy the fox, the mascot of the team from Eindhoven, who treated his counterparts to a wonderful feast on the pitch.

While the menu is unknown and only ice cream and sweets can be spotted in the photos, what’s certain is that the atmosphere was great and 27 mascots of the leading Dutch clubs responded to the invitation. The meeting started with a tour of Philips Stadion, after which the mascots played a friendly match and the whole thing was rounded off with dinner.

Information about this unique initiative, and above all the photos, quickly spread around the globe, showing that league rivals can have great battles on the pitch and create equally great memories off it.
