In the summer of 2020, an open payment system was introduced, in which supporters could use debit and credit cards of major banks, as well as Girocard (popular in the German banking system) to make stadium payments.

“Die Roten” are also working with Hannoversche Volksbank and Simply-X (solutions provider for event industry) to implement actions to improve the impression of the matchday. As a result, in the autumn of 2020, 239 contactless payment terminals were installed at HDI-Arena.

Earlier this year, an app was launched that allows fans to place orders at the ground without leaving their seats. In addition, the software offers the possibility to choose the best player of the game, exclusive videos and photos from the stadium, and the possibility of returning the deposit for products.

Moreover, supporters can watch the match right from their home. The functionality of the application can be tested when more fans can be admitted to the stadiums. Then it will also be better to evaluate all the recently introduced changes.
