It's been an interesting several days for fans of Mexico's Club León, one of the Liga MX teams waiting to get a new stadium. Just before the end of August club president Jesús Martínez Patiño announced that HKS Architects are just 3 months away from delivering the complete documentation.

He also suggested that he wants Latin America's richest man, multi-billionaire Carlos Slim, to be involved in the project worth an estimated MXN 2 billion. Aside from 35,000 people, the stadium will also welcome hotel guests, office workers and shoppers.

“In January or February (of 2020) we will be laying the first stone.” he revealed and the new León stadium would arrive in approximately 2023. This means a noticable slip from initial time frame (2019-2021). In recent days Martínez Patiño confirmed the ongoing progress with new renderings of the stadium, which we're also happy to show you below:
