A very unfortunate accident took place in Valencia today, where large slidng gate collapsed onto a woman passing by with her baby in a stroller. The child is safe, however the mother is in hospital.

Today before noon a sad event happened in Valencia. South-western gate leading to the stadium fell off its rails and collapsed onto the pavement. The structure measuring 3x5 meters fell onto a young woman with her baby. Cause of the accident is unclear as of now.

The 25-year-old woman was transported to hospital with several injuries, most importantly potentially serious injuries to the head. The 1-year-old baby suffered no physical injuries.

Valencia CF released a brief statement about the situation. “Valencia CF deeply regrets the event that occurred on Friday morning on public roads, as a result of the accidental fall of a sliding gate of Camp de Mestalla. The club, which from the first moment has been made available to the family of the affected person, wishes her a total recovery in the shortest possible time.”
