It’s been on the agenda for some time now, but finally Helmond Sport want to proceed with building a new stadium. Details are expected soon.

Lavans Stadion isn’t among Eerste Liga’s most dated, but surely cannot satisfy the aspirations of Helmond Sport. The idea of building a new one has already surfaced a couple of times, so far with no success.

Now club president Phillipe van Esch confirms there will be a new stadium. Yesterday plans were presented to the city council. Helmond Sport hope to build a new venue that would also house educational facilities, possibly also medical institutions.

Details of the scheme are yet to be revealed, but should it get approval from the council, it might finally boost the club’s profile domestically.
