Long awaited stadium for CSKA Moscow is one step closer as the club selected their final red-blue seating mosaic. It was selected out of over 200 entries in public competition.
Earlier this year CSKA Moscow announced a competition to select the pattern of seats in their new stadium. The competition enjoyed high interest with over 200 entries, though the final one was worked on based on thorough consultation.
The selected mosaic sees blue seats along the staircases and red ones deeper into the sections. With irregular layout this creates an interesting gradient. Club colours are completed with yellow letter PFC CSKA across the main grandstand and the proposed yellow stair paintwork.
With roughly 30,000 seats waiting for installation, the stadium should be ready early into 2016. All primary construction work has already been delivered. Now installations and furnishings are coming as well as the mounting of glass outer cladding.
Below is the selected layout and our attempt at pasting it onto an actual construction photo from December.
