During yesterday’s meeting Mortenson Construction, general contractor of US Bank Stadium, confirmed reaching the symbolic 75% mark on site. Over $640 million worth of work was already delivered, majority of the $1bn total budget.

Of course a lot still needs to be done before the building opens next summer, but for now one of the key issues is to close it before the harsh Minnesota winter arrives. East side is nearly complete with outer cladding, while installation of the glass wall continues.

By mid-November the building should be enclosed and allow continuous work inside. 1,400 workers are on the site daily, guaranteeing very significant progress. Most of the stands are already mounted into place, while thousands of violet seats are being installed in the two upper tiers.

75% isn’t only the construction’s latest milestone, but also amount of savings planned thanks to US Bank Stadium’s innovative lighting system. Consisting only of LED lights, the system will adjust required intensity depending on natural sunlight access not to use more electricity than required.
