2,000 in the north and 2,000 in the south – this is the size of planned upper tiers behind both goals at Pirtek Stadium. After consultation with both anchor tenants (Parramatta Eels and Western Sydney Wanderers) this is the capacity increase planned by authorities.

But the stadium won’t only grow. As part of the $29 million redevelopment all current seats will be replaced by new ones, LED screens and signage will be installed along Wi-Fi and complete renovation of player facilities. The field will also be relaid.

The project is expected to start as early as mid-October 2014 and will be financed primarily by the Australian government ($20 million). The remainder will be covered by state authorities of New South Wales ($6m) and the city of Parramatta ($3m).
