Brentford Football Club’s ambition to build a new stadium will reach another milestone this month, when plans are submitted to Hounslow Council. The public was invited to a number of exhibitions to view initial plans for the new stadium, in Lionel Road South near Kew Bridge station, and give feedback before developers drew up a final planning application.

Brian Burgess, director of Lionel Road Developments Limited, said: “We accept this is a challenging and complex application.

“For the past eight months the project team has been working very hard and we have been engaging with a wide range of local residents and others and we believe we have done as much as we can to balance the concerns some of them have with our financial needs to raise the necessary funds to build a multi-purpose new stadium.
