In 2014 there will be 65 of them and it's these elements that will create the impressive dome over Beira-Rio's stands. But so far the first giant leaf-shaped segment is being assembled, to be installed tomorrow.

Another milestone at Estadio Beira-Rio's construction is now reached. Stands are already done, now it's time for the steel roof structure. On Monday pieces of the first 'leaf' started arriving and are now being put together.

The huge piece of the roof is expected to be put in place tomorrow, becoming the very first piece of cover. Eventually there will be 65 of these segments that together will create the dome designed by Hype Studio.
