As the London Olympics become history, questions about legacy return. As for the main stadium itself, it still awaits the preferred tenant selection and the final design on how it is to be redeveloped.

But one element will soon disappear from the landscape of the Olympic Park. It's the 306 strips of fabric that form venue's external cladding. 286 of them are to be recycled in Manchester based Axion Recycling and used in different buildings.

A small portion of 20 will also be split between two social projects – one in future Olympics host Rio de Janeiro and another in Uganda-run project for child-soldiers. In both cases fabric is to provide shade for open spaces.
