New: Stadion FK Drnovice Just like host nation Poland, this stadium fell from heaven of being so close to hell of losing everything. Still, we wish all the best to Czech Republic and celebrate their win yesterday with adding this interesting venue.

FK Drnovice is a very small club from a very small town of some 2,500 citizens. Until 1980's they played no important role in Czech football, struggling around the 8th league. Then, however, former player Jan Gottvald stepped in, bought the side and started working on them going up. After several years of promotions and ownership changes they reached Gambrinus Liga in 1993.

The stadium was expanded to meet requirements, but not only reaching the league was a goal – reaching its top was another one. 1999/2000 season brought a record 3rd place and just five years afterwards came bankruptcy. The club fell first to 2nd division, then back to 10th, lowest possible. Since then floodlights are not used, hospitality rooms empty, VIP zone destroyed. The ground is now used only for the few hundred most faithful who care about their team around the bottom.
