NTC Poprad – stadium description

The stadium in Poprad stands among the town’s other major leisure facilities (hockey arena, aqua park, tennis courts) along the Poprad River. In its initial configuration it was multi-use with a running track and 7 rows of terracing.

However currently it’s one of Slovakia national team’s training venues after major redevelopment that ended in 2015. Main grandstand was renovated thoroughly, while the remaining sections were demolished and replaced with football-specific stands right behind the field.

The project cost €4.3 million to implement. The steel stands (second phase) consumed €2.5m, 60% of which was covered by the government. Remainder was paid jointly by the Slovakian FA (SFZ) and UEFA.
