A new milestone in the construction of Nou Mestalla
The roof of Nou Mestalla is getting closer. Workers have installed the final section needed to complete the compression ring. This means that the structure that will support the stadium’s roof is now complete.
Now it is time to raise the roof, using a system of radial cables combined with a tension ring. The process will be one of the most complex stages of the project and requires extremely precise coordination.

Over the past few weeks, workers have been erecting the scaffolding and structures known as bird’s nests
– elements designed to ensure the radial cables supporting the roof are correctly tensioned. These cables, in turn, will be responsible for supporting the stadium’s enormous roof.
The roof, supported by 50 pillars, will weigh around 4,800 tonnes. According to the construction schedule, its installation, along with the finishing touches, will continue until the end of the project. That is to say, until the summer of 2027. Meanwhile, Valencia continues to seek a buyer for the old
Mestalla.
