USA: Major changes in Nashville – infrastructure around New Nissan Stadium The East Bank Development Authority (EBDA) has presented an updated overview of progress on one of Nashville’s largest urban development projects. The investment, carried out in cooperation with the Tennessee Titans, includes a comprehensive transformation of the East Bank area, featuring new pedestrian connections, expanded recreational spaces, and the construction of a new stadium.

Cooperation with the Tennessee Titans and project timeline

The project is being developed in cooperation with the Tennessee Titans, who will be responsible for constructing part of the infrastructure. One of the key elements of the project is improving pedestrian and cycling connectivity between both sides of the Cumberland River. The EBDA, together with the Tennessee Titans, is working on a ramp and connection design that will provide direct access to the stadium and future park areas.

The plan includes extending the existing Siegenthaler Pedestrian Bridge toward Wasioto Park. The new infrastructure is intended to ensure smooth and safe movement for residents and fans as part of a broader multimodal connectivity system. EBDA representatives emphasize that technical details are currently being reviewed, including width, slope, and safety requirements. The goal is to create a convenient and functional solution that links the west and east sides of the river.

According to current plans, work on the pedestrian connections could begin as early as summer 2026. In the summer of 2026, attention across the football world will shift to different parts of the United States, where the biggest tournament in global football will take place. Upcoming 2026 World Cup tournament will therefore dominate global attention. As anticipation builds, bookmakers are already reporting increased activity, with shifting odds reflecting early betting trends on potential winners, top scorers, and standout performances expected throughout the tournament.

Completion of the project is scheduled for the end of 2027, although the timeline remains flexible. At the same time, discussions with Metro Planning and other city agencies are ongoing to refine the final shape of the investment. One of the most important elements of the entire transformation is the construction of the new Tennessee Titans stadium, which is expected to be completed in February 2027. This marks the beginning of a new era for Nashville’s sports infrastructure.

As construction progresses, increasing attention is being paid to the future of the current Nissan Stadium. Under preliminary plans, after its demolition in 2028, the site could be converted into parking for around 2,000 vehicles as well as a recreational space. However, the final redevelopment plan has not yet been approved. The EBDA stresses that before demolition takes place, key infrastructure elements such as road systems, pedestrian links, and preparation for future parkland must be completed.

TPAC, Oracle, and additional developments in the area

In parallel, other major infrastructure projects are also moving forward. The Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) and Oracle are both developing their own investments, which will become an integral part of the future East Bank landscape. TPAC is planned for the East Bank Boulevard and Music City Mile corridor—a key pedestrian route in the area. The project is currently in the design and engineering phase, with construction expected to begin in 2026 or early the following year.

Meanwhile, Oracle is developing its campus in the River North Greenway area. The company has reduced its planned office footprint while also exploring the possibility of creating a new pedestrian connection toward Germantown.

These combined developments are set to significantly reshape Nashville’s East Bank over the coming years, creating a modern mixed-use district combining sports, business, and public space.
