Tender announced for pitch replacement Bielsko-Biała is stepping up preparations to host the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup by upgrading key sports infrastructure. City authorities have allocated PLN 2.34 million for the project, but the bids submitted by contractors are lower – the cheapest amounts to approximately PLN 1.64 million, while the highest slightly exceeds PLN 2.07 million. This creates an opportunity to optimize costs while maintaining the full scope of work. The tender covers not only the replacement of the turf, but also the preparation of a comprehensive training infrastructure to be used by teams during matches and training sessions. While waiting for sporting events to begin, fans often turn to alternative forms of entertainment, with sports betting being one of the most popular choices. Irish bookmakers on Betfree.ie offer a variety of options tailored to different preferences, making it easy for users to stay engaged.

The planned modernization involves the complete removal of the existing surface and the construction of a new pitch structure from scratch. The process will begin with laying a five-centimeter sand layer, followed by a 12-centimeter vegetation layer responsible for proper grass growth. On this prepared base, new rolled turf with a width of 120 centimeters will be installed. Additionally, a synthetic warm-up area will be created, increasing the stadium’s functionality and improving training conditions for players.

After the construction works are completed, an intensive turf maintenance period is planned from July to the end of September. During this time, the stadium will be managed by a specialized team responsible for maintaining the pitch quality throughout the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in September this year. Professional pitch maintenance is crucial for the smooth running of the tournament and the safety of the players. It is often a key factor in the overall evaluation of the event’s organization.

Modernization of the Municipal Stadium ahead of the women’s tournament

The key reason for accelerating the investment is the upcoming tournament mentioned above. Bielsko-Biała has been selected as one of the host cities. The modernization of the Municipal Stadium is intended to ensure infrastructure that meets international standards. The tournament will be a major sporting event, with 24 national teams participating, including Poland as the host nation.

For the stadium on Rychlińskiego Street, this will not be the first experience hosting an event of this scale. In 2019, the venue hosted matches of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, including the quarter-final between South Korea and Senegal. The new investment is not only meant to prepare the stadium for another major event but also to leave lasting benefits for local sport. Thanks to the modernization, conditions for players will improve, and the city will strengthen its position as an important football center in the region.
