Allianz ends 13-year partnership
After more than a decade of cooperation, Allianz is ending its naming rights agreement with SE Palmeiras’ stadium. The partnership, which began in 2013, is coming to an end as part of a shift in the company’s strategy in this market.
The decision is not the result of financial problems of either the stadium or the club, but rather a change in Allianz’s global marketing strategy. The company is gradually reducing its involvement in naming rights in selected countries, focusing on other forms of presence. As a result, the stadium in São Paulo will lose the name it has carried since its opening.
The end of the partnership marks the conclusion of a 13-year period during which the name Allianz Parque became one of the most recognizable examples of commercial stadium naming in Brazil.

Nubank enters the game and takes over naming rights
The new partner is expected to be Nubank, which has reached an agreement with the stadium operator, WTorre. According to media reports, the deal is set to be one of the largest naming rights agreements in Brazil’s history.
Nubank’s entry aligns with its strategy to increase its presence in the sports and entertainment sector. Palmeiras’ stadium is set to become a key marketing asset for the bank in the Brazilian market.
An important element of the process will be the involvement of fans in choosing the new stadium name. A vote is planned, allowing supporters to select their preferred name, which is expected to increase acceptance of the change.

Name change in progress and formalities underway
The process of changing the stadium’s name is already underway, but it requires administrative procedures to be completed. The operator has submitted the necessary applications to municipal authorities, which is essential for the official introduction of the new name.
At the same time, preparations for the stadium’s rebranding are ongoing, including visual identity, signage, and marketing communication.
In the coming months, Palmeiras’ stadium will undergo a full image transformation. Although the final name has not yet been revealed, one thing is certain – after 13 years, Allianz Parque will cease to exist as a brand, making way for a new partner.
