Tourism giant steps into the game

Helloworld Travel, a leading Australian travel retailer with a network of more than 2,000 independent agencies and intermediaries, has signed a naming‑rights deal for the new arena. It is the company’s first‑ever sponsorship of a major sporting venue.

Tourism is only one branch of the broader entertainment industry. As online activity brings people more and more enjoyment, some sectors are thriving in the digital space. One such option is a site with best online pokies Australia, offering attractive welcome bonuses and convenient payment methods.

We’re thrilled to partner with Venues NSW on this exciting new chapter in Penrith and look forward to seeing Helloworld Stadium become a place that will create lifelong memories for friends and families, said Andrew Burnes AO, CEO and managing director of Helloworld Travel.

Architecture and modern amenities

The new venue will replace the historic stadium that first opened in 1967. Helloworld Stadium will host 25,000 fans for sporting events, with capacity rising to 30,000 in concert mode. The opening is planned for 2027, after which the arena will become the home of rugby league side Penrith Panthers and a host venue for motocross and other mass events.

Designers have introduced a range of features to enhance the fan experience. Steeper stands will bring spectators closer to the pitch, while new video screens and a modern sound system will improve the atmosphere. The venue will offer more food and beverage outlets and additional restrooms, alongside upgraded safety measures. Family‑friendly grassy hills will be retained, and four gender‑neutral dressing rooms will support the development of both women’s and men’s competitions.

Economic boost for the region

The new landmark in Penrith is part of the state government’s multi‑billion‑dollar investment strategy in Sydney’s western suburbs. The project aims to stimulate the local economy and create new spaces for work and leisure. During construction, it is expected to generate around 500 jobs, while more than 650 ongoing positions will be supported once the stadium is fully operational.

Importantly, the project is also delivering real benefits for our community – creating local jobs during construction and once the stadium is operational, while providing a new home for the Panthers and a destination that will attract visitors, events and investment to Penrith for decades to come, said Penrith MP Karen McKeown OAM. She added: The new Helloworld Stadium is an exciting step forward for Penrith and reflects the Government’s commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure for Western Sydney. This redevelopment will create a modern, family-friendly venue that brings fans closer to the action while supporting the continued growth of sport, entertainment, and major events in our region.

The involvement of a major travel company aligns with other flagship projects in this part of the metropolitan area. New South Wales minister for sport and tourism Steve Kamper sees the agreement as a key opportunity to raise the venue’s international profile. With construction of Helloworld Stadium to be completed and the new Western Sydney Airport to open this year, this is an exciting partnership that will take Penrith to the world and create a sport and entertainment destination that supports the local economy year-round, he said. Penrith is ready to take off with Helloworld Travel coming onboard as the inaugural naming rights partner of western Sydney’s newest destination.
