The stadium of Włókniarz Częstochowa may soon undergo a significant expansion aimed at modernizing the venue and increasing its commercial potential. The investment is intended not only to improve the matchday experience for fans but also to create new revenue streams for the club. If implemented, the project could transform the stadium into a multifunctional venue capable of hosting various events beyond speedway racing.

Construction of a new stand above the pit area at Włókniarz Stadium
The key element of the planned investment is the construction of a new stand above the pit area. This is where modern VIP boxes are expected to be built, potentially becoming an important source of revenue for the club. Currently, the Krono-Plast Arena has a capacity of just under 17,000 seats, making it one of the larger speedway venues in Poland. Despite this, the stadium infrastructure is still not fully complete from the perspective of modern sports club management.
According to club president Jakub Michalski, the lack of a stand above the pit area is one of the biggest limitations to the club’s development. The new space could accommodate not only VIP boxes but also facilities enabling the organization of business events, concerts, and corporate meetings. Fans often look for other forms of entertainment that are not necessarily related to their favourite sport, and one of the most popular options is definitely casino games, such as Pinco, where you can find offers perfectly tailored to your needs.
The introduction of a premium zone is important not only from an image perspective but, above all, from a financial standpoint. Examples from other clubs show that such solutions can significantly increase revenue. At the stadium of Stal Gorzów, the existing VIP boxes generate around PLN 2 million in additional annual income. Włókniarz Częstochowa would like to implement a similar business model in the future.
A modern business space would allow the club to expand cooperation with sponsors and organize events outside of matchdays. As a result, the stadium could become an important meeting place for the local business community.
The first stage of Włókniarz Stadium modernization required by the PGE Ekstraliga
The current Krono-Plast Arena in Częstochowa was rebuilt in 2006; however, as club officials emphasize, the investment was never fully completed. The missing element is precisely the stand above the pit area along with the VIP facilities. The new project aims to fill this gap and create a coherent, modern stadium space. In addition to sporting functions, the venue would also serve as a center for social and cultural events. Club officials emphasize that such an investment could benefit not only Włókniarz itself but also the city of Częstochowa and its residents.
The investment plan has been divided into two stages. The first stage concerns work necessary to meet the licensing requirements of the PGE Ekstraliga. Among the most important tasks are the purchase of new safety barriers, the acquisition of a protective tarpaulin for the track, and the modernization of the stadium lighting. These activities are being carried out in cooperation with the authorities of the city of Częstochowa. Their completion is crucial for the ability to host league matches at the highest level of competition.
The second stage of the project is far more extensive. It includes the creation of a completely new pit area as well as the construction of the previously mentioned stand with VIP boxes. The concept for this investment was prepared by a professional design office, and the cost of preparing the documentation was covered by the club’s owner, Bartłomiej Januszka.
The authorities of Włókniarz hope that the project can be implemented in cooperation with the city by presenting concrete economic and social arguments supporting the expansion of the stadium.

The future of Włókniarz Częstochowa Stadium depends on sporting results
Although the club is planning infrastructure development, the situation of the team is being assessed realistically in Częstochowa. The current squad is considered by experts to be one of the main candidates for relegation from the PGE Ekstraliga. However, the club’s management emphasizes that even a potential relegation would not change the long-term development strategy. The plan assumes a quick return to the top tier by winning the Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga in 2027.
