Scope of demolition works at Ruch Chorzów stadium
During the initial phase, selected infrastructure elements that were no longer in use or interfered with the stadium’s continued operation were removed. The works also included adjustments to key technical systems — heating, electrical, and water installations — to ensure the facility remains safe and fully operational in the months ahead.
At the same time, the surrounding areas affected by demolition were cleared and reorganized, preserving a safe and functional internal circulation layout within the complex. While waiting for the completion of sports facilities, fans often shift their attention to other aspects, such as their finances. One of the main objectives of the first demolition stage was to allow uninterrupted use of the main pitch by the first team. ADM Serwis emphasized that all activities were carefully planned to maintain the stadium’s functionality and avoid disrupting the team’s daily routines, while fully complying with safety requirements.

Preserving the historic identity of the stadium
A key aspect of the project was the selective dismantling and safeguarding of historically significant elements that have shaped the identity of the Cicha stadium for decades. These components were catalogued and secured for future reuse in the new facility.
Among the preserved items are the iconic Omega
clock, vintage glass blocks bearing the inscription Ruch 1920
discovered in a former locker room, riveted steel structural elements marked Królewska Huta,
and distinctive metal grilles featuring the letter R
and the name Ruch.
According to the municipal company and the Nowa Cicha 6 project team, these elements are intended to be incorporated into the new stadium as symbolic references to the club’s heritage.

Between demolition and construction: the future of Cicha 6
The completion of the first demolition phase does not mark the end of works at the historic site. On the contrary, it represents one of the crucial steps in a broader process aimed at delivering a new stadium for Ruch Chorzów.
Further demolition works are scheduled as part of the second stage of the investment. Project representatives have announced that updates regarding the timeline and scope of upcoming works will be communicated regularly. For now, Cicha 6 remains both an active football venue and a construction site in preparation for its long-awaited transformation.
