USA: Preparations for construction of new Browns stadium underway On the barren, expansive site of the former Ford factory in Brook Park, a process is underway that is set to permanently change the sports landscape of Northeast Ohio. The first preparatory works on the ground for the investment have just begun.

On this vast, empty site, the only things visible are heavy construction machines squeezing their way between piles of demolished concrete. Crews from Independence Excavating are demolishing the remaining structures of the former Ford Motor Co. plants that operated here for decades. Generations of factory workers could never have imagined that one day it would be Cleveland football that turns this place into its home.

With the growing popularity of football and the NFL itself, there is also more and more talk about types of entertainment that go beyond the stadium experience. With so much information around, it is worth knowing how to choose a reliable betting site before picking anything for your warm‑couch entertainment.

The Haslam family bought the property earlier this year for $76 million, paving the way for one of the largest construction projects in Ohio’s history. As the last remnants of the former factory are torn down, Brook Park’s industrial past is gradually giving way to a new role – that of a sports and entertainment hub for the entire region.

Bulldozers began earthworks in early October. On the construction site you can see a bulldozer pushing piles of concrete rubble that will be crushed into gravel. Full‑scale construction is scheduled to start in 2026, with the goal of opening the new stadium before the 2029 NFL season. A recent $100 million agreement with Cleveland mayor Justin Bibb gives the Browns the option to extend the lease of their current lakefront stadium through the 2030 season if delays occur in Brook Park, giving the club the flexibility to focus on the quality of the investment.

Huntington Bank Field and a new entertainment district

The planned stadium will be a covered venue worth $2.4 billion, designed by HKS – the same firm behind SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Renderings show a translucent roof that lets in natural light and stands for 67,500 fans, expandable to 75,000 seats for concerts and major events.

The new Huntington Bank Field will rise on the southwestern suburb of Brook Park, right next to the international airport and a major highway interchange. The design explicitly echoes the site’s industrial heritage – the stadium is set to have a complex, irregular form reminiscent of a production plant, with a roof made of multiple planes at different angles and façades and roofing finished in alternating transparent material and dark panels, plus large multimedia screens above the main entrances. The fully roofed arena will feature a main roof segment made of transparent ETFE membrane, and its beating heart is to be the northeast Dawg Pound stand with safe standing areas, forming the most intense zone of support.
