Villarreal CF is entering the penultimate stage of the Estadio de la Cerámica modernization. The club is constructing a new building at Plaza Pascual Font de Mora, connected to the stadium by an elevated glass tunnel above Blasco Ibáñez Street.

Dressing rooms and facilities outside the stadium
Work is beginning on the construction of new dressing rooms, a car park, medical rooms and new operational areas outside the stadium. The club has long wanted to expand these areas, as the existing facilities had become too small and the organizational and commercial demands were growing. Now the heart of the back‑of‑house facilities will be moved to a new building located right next to the stand on Blasco Ibáñez Street.
The new building is being constructed on the site of the current Pascual Font de Mora square, which already has an underground car park. This is where the dressing rooms, medical area, hospitality zones and entertainment areas will be located, enhancing the stadium’s existing offer. The ground floor will house a coach park, while the upper levels will offer spaces for VIP guests and modern team facilities designed in line with the current standards of the biggest football arenas.
Glass tunnel above the street
What makes this stage of the redevelopment stand out is the way the new building will be linked to the stadium. It is described as a unique structure because it will be connected to the stadium and the pitch by a glass tunnel.
The location of the dressing‑room entrance will also change. Today it is roughly in the middle of the stands, but once the works are completed it will be shifted by one corner, towards the south stand with premium seating. This solution will resemble the layout known from Old Trafford, where the players’ entrance is closely tied to the premium areas and to showcasing the teams in front of the crowd.
One of the most striking effects will be the visibility of the players’ walk from the street. The elevated passage will allow fans to see their idols walking through the glass tunnel even before they appear on the pitch. Visiting supporters already like to gather in this area, and once the project is finished it will become a fixed element of the matchday experience.
Moving the dressing rooms, medical area and players’ car park outside the stadium bowl has a key advantage: it frees up valuable space behind the main stand. Today it is occupied by dressing rooms and other working areas which, once the investment is completed, can be converted into boxes, additional hospitality zones and catering or restaurant facilities.
Thanks to this, the central part of the facilities behind the main stand will be fully dedicated to serving spectators – especially those using business boxes and premium sectors.
Hospitality, coworking, business
The expansion of Estadio de la Cerámica is not limited to matchdays. It will make it possible to enlarge the size of rooms and create new spaces for commercial use or coworking areas. The club is already developing its Business Club project, and the new premises can naturally become a place for business meetings or conferences.
The new investment will complement the existing restaurant and entertainment zone in the corner of the south stand, the Inmersión Villarreal museum, the El Ceramista restaurant and the 1923 club located in the upper part of that stand.
According to the original assumptions, the project, carried out in cooperation with the city, was to be completed within two seasons from July of last year. However, information from people involved in the investment suggests that the works may be finished even before the start of the 2026/27 season, although the final date will depend on the pace of construction.
