In the 2025/26 financial year, the last remaining actions to complete the remodelling work on the stadium will be carried out, Real Madrid announced in mid-July. At various points in the stands you can already see the new commercial name of the stadium: Bernabéu, but the most visible change in the last few days were the tests of the new lighting of the facade, with part of the floodlights on the west side of the stadium switched on.

When approaching the stadium it is not difficult to see that work is still going on in the restaurant area and the pavements that surround the venue, where the fencing has not yet been removed. But it is inside the stadium where the workers are carrying out the crucial work for the future of the new Santiago Bernabéu.

Inside: work on the field and at the top

In both ends, the workers are now finishing the preparation of the trays that will allow the pitch to be extended for the NFL match, which will be played at Bernabéu on November 16. Previously, they demolished part of the stands and installed the temporary structure on which the first rows of seats in both stands will now be located.

The soundproofing work is also continuing at the top of the auditorium, and the club hopes to be able to resume the concerts, which moved to Estadio Metropolitano, damaging the image of both the club and Los Blancos’ temple.

Both the soundproofing and the adaptation of the venue to the requirements of the NFL were not part of the plans a few months ago. However, the suspension of the concerts in September 2024 and the NFL's decision to play the Washington Commanders v. Miami Dolphins game in Spain led the club to change its plans and modify the budget, which has already reached €1,347M and can still increase.
