Following the conclusion of the 2024/2025 season, Córdoba CF has officially launched renovation works at the Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel stadium. The investment is being carried out jointly by the club and the city authorities, aiming to transform the venue into a modern, fully functional facility that meets LaLiga requirements and the expectations of supporters.

Initial changes already underway
In June 2025, the club began the first phase of work, which included installing new VIP boxes (palcos) in the main stand. Their functionality was tested during the final match of the season. At the same time, new signage featuring the name of the title sponsor – Bahrain Victorious – and a large club crest was installed on the northern façade. Both elements will be illuminated, enhancing the stadium’s visual identity and prestige.
Upcoming upgrades include replacing the lighting system with LEDs, revamping the irrigation infrastructure, laying new turf, repairing the roof over the north stand, and upgrading the team benches. A notable technological innovation will be the introduction of NFC-based access cards, aimed at streamlining entry into the stadium, particularly for season ticket holders. A large video scoreboard is also planned for installation in the north section. While awaiting the next stage of stadium development, sports betting remains a popular pastime among fans — often introduced through affiliate betting agents operating within fan circles and around matchday events.
A new external appearance
In parallel, the city of Córdoba is undertaking works focused on the exterior aesthetics and functionality of the stadium. Municipal authorities have announced plans to enclose the currently open façades of the main and south stands using modern aluminium and steel panels. These changes aim to give the stadium a unified, finished architectural look. The city’s portion of the investment exceeds €1.6 million, with works expected to last around six months following the awarding of the public tender. Completion is scheduled for June 2026.
Club representatives, led by CEO Antonio Fernández Monterrubio, emphasise that the modernisation is not only an infrastructural necessity but also a strategic investment in the club’s future. As a key symbol of the city’s sporting identity, the stadium must keep pace with the standards set by professional football and the expectations of sponsors and commercial partners.
Designed with supporters in mind
The project also holds significant value for fans. New amenities, improved comfort, better accessibility, and a more refined appearance are all intended to increase attendance and strengthen the emotional connection between supporters and the club. Córdoba CF’s vision is for Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel to be not only a modern sports venue but also an open and representative space for the entire community.
All these initiatives are part of the club’s long-term development strategy and send a clear message: Córdoba CF is returning to a path of professionalism and ambition, with the stadium as one of the central pillars of this transformation.
