Return after 55 days
The season at Allianz Arena kicked off on August 2 with a friendly against Olympique Lyon, followed five days later by the Telekom Cup tournament featuring Tottenham Hotspur. These events concluded the break following the UEFA Champions League and Nations League finals. Although the summer pause meant no matches, the stadium remained lively – for the first time in its history, it hosted a major music event, while modernization works ran in parallel.
We’re working tirelessly every day to make sure that after 20 years in existence, the Allianz Arena remains one of the most modern stadiums in Europe,
stressed Jürgen Muth, Managing Director of Münchner Stadion GmbH. In addition to sustainable business practices, our focus is always on the fans. We have therefore taken our visitors' feedback to heart and done everything we can to make both admission to the stadium and the visit itself more comfortable,
he added.
Fan comfort and new amenities
One of the key changes is the installation of canopies over the turnstiles at the southern entrance from the esplanade. These protect fans from rain and heat, with built-in screens providing real-time entry information. The structures feature photovoltaic modules, highlighting the eco-friendly direction of the upgrade.
Another novelty is the central Welcome Center on level 0, serving as an access point for guests and media arriving from car parks P1–P3. Additional lifts now connect the esplanade with reception, while a reorganization of parking introduced, among other changes, the renaming of the former S1 to P0 and a license plate recognition system. These improvements are complemented by new LED signage on the ring road.

New pitch and investments in sustainability
The pitch, which had been in use since the previous season, was removed after the June Guns N’ Roses concert. A new playing surface was laid at the end of July and made its debut in the match against Lyon.
In terms of sustainability, 12 additional Viessmann heat pumps were installed – another step in modernizing the heating and cooling systems, scheduled for completion in 2026. Another important step was the construction of a transformer station, preparing the infrastructure for an electric utility vehicle charging park in cooperation with MAN Truck & Bus.
