Chaos is growing around the future of football in Brescia. Former club owner Massimo Cellino is demanding the return of Rigamonti and filing new lawsuits. Meanwhile, some fans openly oppose the new sporting project for Brescia.

Cellino’s legal offensive
Massimo Cellino is not giving up. Although his time as owner of Brescia Calcio has officially come to an end, the former president is still trying to leave his mark on the club’s future. Through his lawyers, he has filed an appeal with the Regional Administrative Court (TAR), demanding the annulment of the city council’s decision to revoke the concession of the stadium to Brescia Calcio S.p.A.
As the dispute in Brescia heats up, the fans – though divided – continue to follow every development with unwavering passion. And when emotions and football go hand in hand, many of them are reaching for an extra dose of adrenaline. But this is just the beginning of Cellino’s actions. He has also taken the matter to civil court, seeking the seizure of removable stadium structures in Mompiano – including stands, skyboxes, and technical equipment. He claims ownership of these assets and has no intention of giving them up. All of this is unfolding amid tensions surrounding efforts to establish a new club in the city.

New club, old dispute
On May 15, during lunchtime, the formation of Calcio Brescia 1911 ASD was announced – a new entity aspiring to inherit the 114-year footballing legacy of Brescia. A brief press release stated that a solid project is already behind it.
Its founders are described as investors, entrepreneurs, and serious managers,
who are expected to be formally introduced soon.
The new initiative is led by Alessandro Lucà, a former mayoral candidate from the Five Star Movement. Lucà called on the current mayor, Laura Castelletti: She will have the final say in whether this project succeeds; her decision could be decisive.
He added, however: If by tomorrow Cellino or anyone on his behalf registers with the Eccellenza league, Calcio Brescia 1911 ASD would no longer have a reason to exist.
There is little time left until Friday, July 18 – the final deadline to register Brescia Calcio S.p.A. for competition in Eccellenza, the lowest regional tier where the club would have to start from scratch. The requirement is that the club must be debt-free – a major obstacle since Cellino failed to pay €4.3 million in wages and debts owed to players and staff by June 6.

Divided stands
The club’s most loyal supporters from Stadio Rigamonti are also taking action. Following a statement from the Ultras 1911 group, another message was issued by part of the Curva Nord – including the San Polo section. The only way to save the history and passion of these 114 years is to start again from the amateur ranks, based on a project that genuinely seeks sporting continuity,
reads the statement. And further: For this reason, we choose to remain loyal to the century-old history of Brescia Calcio, regardless of its fate, while respecting every supporter’s personal choice.
At the same time, another voice emerged – signed as Ultras Curva Nord Brescia.
Its authors stressed that not all of Curva Nord Brescia supports the project of Dr. Pasini and the city administration,
and added: We believe it is our duty to at least explore whether there is still a way to save our history.
They also declared their full readiness to support any initiative aimed at preserving Brescia’s 114 years of footballing heritage – even if it means starting again from the amateur level. Even if that proves impossible, we will not follow the new team relocating from Salò to Brescia,
they stated firmly.
