France: The country’s most original stadium design gets the green light In Brittany’s Finistère department, the project for Stade Brestois’ new stadium – Arkéa Park – has received a positive opinion from the environmental impact assessment committee appointed by the administrative court.

Success of public consultations

Importantly, the opinion was issued without reservations, marking a major step forward for the project in Guipavas. Brest Métropole welcomed the decision, highlighting the public interest of the investment and the strong turnout during the public consultation phase – over 2,200 residents submitted opinions, reflecting high local engagement.

Stade Brestois board members expressed enthusiasm over the consultation results and the commission’s approval. In their view, the growing community support for Arkéa Park confirms the club is moving in the right direction. Following the Minister of Sport’s statement that the project serves the public interest, the positive outcome of the consultations is another major milestone.

A new stadium with european ambitions

The new stadium will seat 15,000 spectators. But ambitions go far beyond that – Arkéa Park is intended as a symbol of a new era for Stade Brestois, aiming to become a regular presence in European competitions. The project has a total budget of €106.5 million, with completion scheduled for the third quarter of 2028.
