The final preparations for the official opening of Everton Stadium are in full swing. Currently, the last works are being carried out, mainly around the stadium's exterior. What has been happening lately at Everton’s new ground?

The crest is up. Now it's time for Everton Way
The installation of the first Everton crest on the exterior wall of the club’s new stadium has been completed. Eventually, three more crests will be added to help give the venue a true home atmosphere. This is not the only recent development at the impressive stadium complex. In addition to the crest, the stadium name – Hill Dickinson Stadium – has also been mounted on the roof of the same stand, clearly visible from above. This follows the naming rights agreement announced in May with the international law firm based in Liverpool.
Soon, tens of thousands of Everton supporters will discover the exact location of the commemorative bricks they purchased as part of the Everton Way
project. A total of 36,000 tiles – most of them engraved with messages and tributes to past, present, and future club heroes – will form a walkway along the south stand. The pathway will also include references to Everton’s greatest players and a timeline of the club’s major achievements. Intaglio Creative, the company overseeing the project, stated on Friday evening that the installation is very, very close to completion.
Another fan-personalised feature will be the fan wall – a mosaic made from photos submitted by supporters, collectively forming an image depicting Everton legends on the west terrace. The first phase of this two-part project is nearly done, and the club is encouraging fans to submit their photos in time to be included.
A stadium open to all
Hill Dickinson Stadium is already open for bookings for non-football events. Everton F.C. has announced that the new venue will be available for conferences, exhibitions, product launches, trade shows, corporate dinners, outdoor concerts, and more from 2025. The stadium offers the highest standard of hospitality and cutting-edge technology. Business clients can choose between rooms with views of the pitch or the river, all equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual systems, high-speed internet, and digital displays for custom branding and presentation.
One of the stadium's most distinctive spaces is The Plaza – a vast open-air area with capacity for up to 17,000 people, ideal for large-scale events such as exhibitions, launches, and festivals. Inside, there are several modern restaurants available for exclusive hire, serving internationally inspired cuisine made from high-quality local ingredients. Event organisers can enhance their experiences with private stadium tours and behind-the-scenes access.
Football debut
As for the stadium’s primary purpose – football – the venue will be officially inaugurated with a friendly match against AS Roma, scheduled for 9 August. This will be followed by a legends match between former players of both clubs, serving as the final test before the first Premier League fixture at the new ground – Everton vs Brighton – two weeks later.
